In these communities of living things, we look at the animals, plants and people that make up a unique Ecosystem environment. Why is a desert dry and a rainforest wet?  How has the earth changed over time?  Where did creatures like the Wooly Mammoth go?

These questions and more are answered as we discover the meaning of life form interdependence and the unique adaptations for survival in different environments.

Curriculum Units Available:

  • Rainforests – focus on the Amazon’s plants, animals and people.
  • Deserts – focus on local plants, animals and people of the Mojave and Sonoran deserts.
  • Prehistoric Life – covers the Mesozoic period, examining dinosaurs from the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods with an introduction to the creatures of the North American Ice Age.
